Cozy Vintage & Edgy Vibes

Whoa, who is that? Yes, I dyed my hair! It is not at all what I had planned, but I guess that's the risk you take when you do it yourself! My hair is currently a work in progress, so bear with me!

Meet my dog Mogley! He conveniently matches my vest rather well, don't you think? He was running about while we were shooting this in my apartment. He is my shadow, my best friend, and my baby! We shot these in the front part of my apartment, in the corner area of my living room. So yes, here is a little peek at my day to day digs. I am sort of in the process of thinking of new ways to organize and decorate. Its very cozy but not always as clean as I wish it would stay! I have been in my own place now for over a year and it has been quite amazing. For those of you who have never lived on your own, it is a sweetness I can barely describe. Especially if you are used to sharing and always having to compromise things with roommates, family, etc. Living on your own is like being your own boss, and the independence is awesome. Of course at times it can be stressful, but very refreshing having no one to answer to.

My fuzzy vest I found at Forever 21 a few years back. It is a good winter/fall piece for layering and also makes quite the statement. Since its just plain off-white, I wanted to put something bright with it. What better than pairing it with a crazy colored, cozy sweater that I have been waiting to wear again since last winter?! This sweater is definitely one of the funkiest tops I own, and is super warm. Its vintage and I found it thrift store hunting earlier this year, I believe.

The pants are also Forever 21 and my boots I found years ago at Aldo. I am seriously loving the contrast of my crazy sweater paired with my more boho fur vest, whilst adding a rough edge to my look with my boots and skinny jeans. Lets not forget my trusty leather studded bag as well! I am always pulling ideas from all different trends, and I love trying new things together. Like I stated before, doing so allows for endless outfit options. Since I love so many styles, some days I feel more boho, other days I want to be gothic-ish, or sometimes I want to look extreme casual with hints of preppy. One thing that is certainly constant about my style is my use of color. I love color!

Plaid Darling

We shot these this past weekend while hanging out. The temperature here is finally cooling down A LOT, so I did not hesitate to layer some tights under my shorts already. I have been waiting to wear this blazer again since last winter. It was also my mothers! I love how over-sized it is and the statement it makes. Definitely bold!

The blue t-shirt is thrifted and I have had it since high school. This past year I decided to cut it up into a crop top! I adore revamping old pieces of mine to style in new ways. It really is up to you how versatile you want your wardrobe to be! I literally have had so many pieces of clothing forever, while just mixing and matching everything a new way each time. This way, it barely looks like I am wearing the same thing twice! But, I must admit, since starting this blog I am really itching for some new things to style! Being a 20 something woman out on my own, it is not easy when I want to shop instead of pay bills! But, I must do what I have to do, so I mostly make do with what I already have.

My accessories are seriously from so many random places over the years. I have had this yellow bracelet since high school as well. The other two I got this year and the ring is from Forever 21.

These shorts are from Forever21 as well, and can go with so many things. I am obsessed with transitioning all of my summer pieces into my fall wardrobe. Who says you have to keep shorts or crop tops to one season? Layering and experimenting with outfit combinations is seriously a huge factor in discovering your own personal style! I know that is one of the ways I started finding my own style.

These booties you have already seen, again I found them at Target on sale. I seriously don't know how you can go wrong with basic black wedge booties, they are a classic love! My DIY studded, thrifted bag will be making many more appearances on here as well, I am sure. Same for my hat, what an awesome find! Again, its from H&M. I am dying to add some new and more interesting hats into my wardrobe, and soon!

Stripes in the Stairwell

I shot these photos earlier this week in the hallway of my boyfriends apartment. Due to the rainy weather, I thought that this would be a rad alternate location. I love how my red striped top pops against the dingy stairwell walls.

How about acid wash? Its not something I wear often, but I simply love this vintage cropped denim jacket. Its 80's Jordache, and  it used to be my mothers. This was actually my first time wearing it out! I loved every second of it. She actually wrote her name inside of the jacket on the tag, makes my heart melt.

The striped top is one of my favorites because of how versatile it can be. I got it thrifting a few years back, the brand is Espirit. The skinny jeans are Forever21 and my socks I found on sale from Urban Outfitters. How Saint Laurent Spring 2014, are the socks, am I right? I was rather excited to see those on their runway this year! Loved pretty much everything about that collection. You can peep it here!

The shoes are cowboy booties and I found them thrifting a few years back, as well. The belt is a a simple skinny braided belt, another thrifty treasure.

My bag is thrifted, and how awesome is the wine color with the floral embroidery?  Accessories are from random places, the choker was a Flea Market find! This is really one of my simple yet sassy go-to outfits. I love throwing a jacket over for good measure, especially for these chilly fall days!
